Welcome to Lil' Flocker's Farm

About our Farm

In 2015 my husband and I began a new journey and life stage when we retired and purchased a home on five acres just west of Centralia, WA.  Both of us had long dreamed of finding a tranquil place away from the hustle and bustle of city life and living a more sustainable lifestyle. That dream reaches back to our early childhoods and the summers we spent on grandparents and various aunt's and uncle's farms.  In fact, both my parents were raised on farms and most of my extended family continued a farming tradition.  So, both of us have always had a deep reverence for the land and simpler way of life.

As many people have become concerned with the quality of food they eat and wanting foods which are not laden with pesticides, hormones or antibiotics they have begun growing gardens, keeping poultry and other livestock, and raising bees in cities, suburbs and on small rural properties. Miniature goat breeds are perfect for those living on smaller properties as they take less room, are easy keepers and provide quality milk that can be used to make a variety of products such as cheeses, ice cream, kefir and luxurious soaps.

Prior to moving to the country we too had grown a small garden and kept a few  chickens in the city for fresh eggs.
Soon after moving to our new home we added a few new pullets to our flock and began planting fruit and nut trees along with assorted berries. Next we began  thinking about which animals would work best for a small acreage such as ours. Since I am a soap maker I was interested in keeping goats, but  found their size somewhat of a deterrent. So, I began educating myself about goat breeds and soon discovered goats came in a miniature version! I had always adored the long ears and strong roman nose of Nubian goats and was excited to learn they came in a more scaled down version. And, so began our journey with miniature Nubian goats.

Our goal at Lil' Flocker's Farm is too live a happier more balanced and sustainable lifestyle.  To that end we are dedicated to holistically raising healthy happy goats that come from quality show and strong milk genetics.
